Namibia out of Cosafa
Namibia's under-20 side, the Young Warriors, drew 0-0 against Zimbabwe and are out of the Cosafa Championships.
Zimbabwe dominated the first half and had a lot of chances to score goals but missed many chances.
Even though their defence was shaky the young Namibians initiated attacks as Leonard Tuhafeni's shot hit the crossbar much to the frustration of coach Gerald Gunther in the dying minutes of the first half.
Zimbabwe opened the second half hungrier but squandered their chances. In the 70th minute Tuhafeni again missed a header when Zimbabwe's goalie came off his line.
Johannes Hollombach of Namibia was the Man of the Match and said they did everything to score but the goals were not coming as Zimbabwe's defence was tight.
Bekithemba Ndlovu, Zimbabwe's coach, said his players played well and deserved to play for the national team. “They should keep their heads high because they played well.”
Namibia beat Angola 1-0 in their opening encounter, and because they didn't add to their winning streak, losing 2-1 to Lesotho on Sunday, it counted against them in the end.
Lesotho are through to the semi-final from Group C.
