Namibia fifth most beautiful in the world

Namibia has captured the world’s imagination once again and has been ranked at number five on Buzzfeed’s list of most beautiful countries in the world. Namibia, South Africa and Kenya are the only three African countries that made it onto the list. The list of 20 countries was compiled by a Buzzfeed community member called TravelGuru, who ranked South Africa in first place. Also among the top ten are the United States, New Zealand, China, Argentina, Colombia, Tanzania, Italy and Kenya. According to the article, Namibia is undoubtedly one of the world’s most scenically magnificent countries. It describes the country as “hauntingly beautiful”. “Its Germanic influence is evident throughout the country, which is one of the world’s natural treasure troves,” TravelGuru writes. The writer contends that the Etosha National Park is indisputably one of the world’s greatest game reserves. “It offers wildlife viewing that rivals the very best reserves on earth. The Caprivi Strip is a water wonderland, with the Epupa Falls generally regarded as the second largest waterfall in an arid area. The Erongo Mountains, Spitzkoppe and Brandberg are among the most remarkable mountains in the world, and the Namib-Naukluft features on the list of mountains that one must see, but that are often unknown.” The article further says Namibia’s deserts are in many ways the highlight of the country, and adds that the Skeleton Coast “where glorious dunes plunge into the stunning Atlantic waters” is justifiably world famous. According to the writer, even more so is Sossusvlei, which is usually seen as the most beautiful desert on earth. “Dead Vlei, found within the greater Sossuvlei area, is an astounding area featuring trees petrified by centuries with little rain, and it often reduces first time visitors to speechless wonder.” Namibia’s has recently received a wave of international acclaim as one of the best destinations in the world, being rated, among others, as having the fastest growing tourism industry in the world, the number one destination to travel to with children, and the second most preferred country to visit in the world.
