Namibia clinches another tourism award
Namibian tourism won another award last week at the World Travel Market Africa (WTM) held in South Africa.
Namibian tourism partners were awarded the Best Business Stand during the World Travel Market Africa 2015 that was held at the Cape Town Convention Centre (CTICC) and attended by more than 570 exhibitors from over 45 different countries.
Namibia was represented by 19 tourism partners under the guardianship of the Namibia Tourism Board (NTB).
The partners shared information on airports, airline, tours, safaris, wildlife resorts and accommodation, among others and their interaction with the public won them the Best Business Stand Award. The award was a special moment for Namibia, given the number of attendees and magnitude of the exhibition.
Accepting the award, NTB Marketing Manager Nicolae Taberescu, explained the significance of the award.
“This is for all the hard work we put in with our partners that are here today. It goes to show that we are doing a good job for Namibia and it only gives us more energy to forge forward in marketing our Namibia”. NTB Strategic partners, Air Namibia, Namibia Airports Company (NAC) and Wildlife Resorts (NWR) too, appreciated the award.
“NAC are the gateways to Namibia. After all the safaris, airline and wildlife sales are done, our airports are the entry points to Namibia and it is vital for us to always support our stakeholders and ensure that we provide airports of credible safety and security, “ stated Dan Kamati, NAC Marketing Officer.
Epson Kasuto, Marketing Manager at NWR was looking forward for more awards.
“We are making strides into the world market and this can only give us confidence in our businesses. We can now work even harder and ensure that not only do we take more awards but more meaningful business for Namibia,” he said.
The WTM Africa is about international exhibitors, buyers and visitors meeting to create valuable partnerships and negotiate successful business deals which will contribute to the impact the industry have on the African economy.
Next up for Namibia Tourism, is the 2015 Durban Toursim Indaba which takes place from May 9 to 11.
