finally: After a couple of months of waiting for the NAMA awards ceremony, MTC and NBC finally hosted a live event to honour local and international artists for their talents and hard work. The NAMAs were a two-day event with the industry awards that took place on Friday at the National Theatre of Namibia and the main awards that took place on Saturday at Ramatex. The NAMAs have evolved over the years and now, it has also become a fashion event, a tourism ceremony and a celebration of Namibian culture, art and creativity. The head of Corporate Affairs Umbi Karuaihe Upi urged organisations and individuals to support the music industry. “We want our artists to go to Hollywood to represent Namibia and leave Namahood for once too,” she said.
