My Nigger Get Rich drops new single
Hip-hop as we know it in its earliest form served as an agent for social change in many parts of the world.
From his demeanour, dress code and way of talking, one can tell that My Nigger Get Rich is heavily influenced by American rapper Curtis Jackson popularly known as 50 Cent. Before I get to share my thoughts on this song I would just like to commend My Nigger Get Rich on being a professional in the way he engages with the media. I was out on a story when he came to our office to drop off this single that is by the way on a CD.
On top of that, the CD was accompanied by a printed press release explaining what the song is about. That demonstrated his seriousness to push his music. In the era of links, he went an extra mile to do all this.
The song is titled Change even though on the chorus he actually says 'changes'.
It is about three minutes long. The content is pretty much what you expect from a conscious rapper. What is impressive for me though, is the execution of this theme particularly on a trap beat.
His raps aren't the best obviously but he is consistent throughout the song. You get the sense he knows and is confident in the type of artist he is and what music he wants to make.
