Motor show launched
The much-anticipated Bank Windhoek and Republikein Motor Show was launched in Windhoek yesterday.
Now in its eighth year, the event has proven to be a highlight on the motoring calendar in Namibia and continues to grow in popularity every year.
According to a statement issued by Bank Windhoek, the motor show is part of the Republikein Namibia Tourism Expo that will take place from June 4 to 7 at the Windhoek Show Grounds.
“Combining the motor show with the Tourism Expo gives the tourism industry and the motor vehicle sales industry a platform to network and collaborate, since both industries have interdependencies,†said Bank Windhoek.
The bank also announced special vehicle financing options for the motor show at the launch.
“Bank Windhoek once again makes it easier for clients to afford their dream car and to choose the financing option that best suits their needs,†said the bank.
The special financing options that buyers can choose from for the duration of the motor show include successful applicants being able to finance their vehicles at an interest rate of prime less 1%, as well as buyers being able to choose to finance their vehicles of more than N$100 000 over an extended period of 72 months.
Clients who choose this option will, however, not qualify for the interest rate of prime less 1% and financing of vehicles above the price range of N$250 000 can also qualify for various residual value or balloon payment options.
Bank Windhoek also announced an exciting competition whereby one lucky client stands the chance to pay 0% interest, if they successfully apply for vehicle financing, with the interest value not exceeding N$100 000.
“What makes buying a vehicle at the Bank Windhoek Motor Show even more appealing in 2014 is that the first 200 clients, who finance their new vehicle with Bank Windhoek during the motor show, will receive a free weekend for two persons at any Gondwana lodge in Namibia, bed and breakfast included,†said the statement.
Speaking at the launch, Bank Windhoek’s Executive Officer of Retail Banking Chris Matthee said: “With these financing options available at the motor show and the added value of a free weekend at any Gondwana lodge, we believe that there is no reason for buyers not to relieve that ‘new car itch’ and buy that new car of their dreams.â€
Matthee added: “Not only does the motor vehicle industry benefit from the platform that the Bank Windhoek and Republikein Motor Show offers and the unique selling opportunity it presents, but it also demonstrates Bank Windhoek’s commitment to building and strengthening our relationship with all stakeholders in the motor vehicle industry.â€
CEO of Republikein’s parent company, Namibia Media Holdings, Albe Botha said: “The Namibia Tourism Expo and Bank Windhoek Motor Show will connect the tourism enthusiasts with vehicle enthusiasts. This combination will result in more Namibians travelling across this beautiful Land of the Brave.â€
Bank Windhoek’s Vehicle and Asset Finance Team will be on hand at the Windhoek Show Grounds to assist clients with their loan applications.
