More boxing at Ramatex
The former Ramatex factory will be the venue of yet another boxing bonanza on Saturday; this time hosted by the MTC Sunshine Boxing Academy.
The Academy released a statement which claimed that “all preparations are on point to give boxing fans real world-class entertainmentâ€.
“We look forward to yet another successful boxing event and we are happy to announce that Leonardo [Esteban] Gonzalez arrived in Windhoek [yesterday] to prepare for the biggest fight of his life,†Nestor Tobias, from the Academy, was quoted as saying in the press release.
Gonzalez, 31, will take on Paulus 'The Hitman' Moses as the pair go head to head for the Namibian's WBO International lightweight title.
The Argentinian has a record of 21 wins from 26 fights with 4 losses and a solitary draw and can be expected to be a tough nut to crack.
But Moses has vowed to give boxing fans the time of their life when he faces Gonzalez on Saturday.
“I have prepared very well for this fight and I will make sure that 'The Hitman' will remain the champion at the end of the fight,†Moses said in the statement.
The statement goes on to say that both fighters will come face to face for the first time tomorrow at an event at Wernhil Park at 11:30.
“We are inviting members of the public to come and see the face-off and how prepared both fighters are for this fight,†Tobias stated.
Also expected to meet his opponent for the first time at the event is Bethuel 'Tyson' Uushona, who will fight Kaizer Mabuza from South Africa on Saturday, while Vikapita 'The Beastmaster' Meroro - another Namibian to be in action over the weekend - will square up with Pascal Ndoma from Tanzania.
“It is important to come and show support to our champions at the face-off. So we encourage you to come in your numbers to Wernhil Park because it will be an interesting affair,†Tobias promised in the statement.
“We will also be giving away some complimentary tickets for the fight, as well as run a special promotion where if you buy one ticket you will get one free, but only while these promotional tickets last,†the promoter added.
VIP tickets are on sale at N$500 while standard tickets go for N$100 at Computicket outlets.
