Momentum does it again
Momentum has once again delivered on its promise to promote sport, after sponsoring African Stars to the tune of N$100 000.
The money is aimed at helping the club through the Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champion's League preliminary round.
The company has, however, predicted a long-term relationship with the 2017/18 MTC Namibia Premier League (NPL) champions.
Momentum Asset Management CEO Lesley Rukoro said the company felt the need to support the Katutura-based club because of the seriousness they have shown.
“African Stars have proven to be a very serious and well-managed club over the past couple of years, having won both the league and Debmarine Namibia Cup in 2017 and 2018.
“With our professional financial expertise, we believe that Momentum Namibia is indeed the right partner to have on board.
“We have agreed to look at a long-term commercial interest, such as branding rights, access to the club membership database and advertising opportunities for our brands,” Rukoro said.
African Stars chairperson Patrick Kauta welcomed the sponsorship, saying it has made a huge difference to the club.
“The club needed these funds for the CAF Champion's League and the company granted us that within a week.
“I would like to thank Momentum for the great gesture, given the difference that it has brought to the club,” Kauta said. Momentum has been involved in sponsoring several sport codes over the years and has pledged to continue helping with the development of sport in the country. Momentum is a subsidiary of MMI Holdings, under which other brands like Metropolitan and Swabou operate.
The Momentum brand operates across Africa and this is one of the reasons why they were inspired to help African Stars during their CAF tournament journey.
