Mob justice claims suspect's life near Oshakati
The police in the Oshana Region have opened a murder case after an alleged burglar was beaten to death by an angry mob.

A 36-year-old man from Omaalala village in the Oshana Region died on Tuesday after a mob of angry residents attacked him for allegedly breaking into a house at Othingo village near Oshakati.
Inspector Thomas Aiyambo said the incident took place at around midnight.
“The deceased was assaulted by members of the public with dry and fresh palm tree sticks after he was suspected of breaking into a residence at the village and stole various items,” stated Aiyambo.
Aiyambo added that some of the stolen items were recovered earlier and during the assault of the deceased.
The Oshakati police have opened a murder case and investigations are ongoing to determine the prime suspects in the matter.
The police have withheld the identity of the deceased as his next of kin are yet to be informed of his death.
