Meryl shares BBA wisdom
Celeb Talk
Meryl: BBA All Stars housemate
Your life changes as soon as you step into the Big Brother Africa (BBA) house. You are filmed 24/7 and the rest of the world will be watching you. It's not easy to agree to be on the show.
Before you even agree, you need to talk to your friends and family about being on the show because what you will be doing will affect their lives in a very big way. Being in the house is very fun, but when you have people watching your every move and judging you on what you do, it is very scary. Every time that you try to make a move - be it when you eat, drink, shower, sleep or even try to use the bathroom - there is a little voice telling you 'pssst! I can see you'.
The most difficult part is when you want to use the bathroom. You know that they are not going to air that footage, but the idea of seeing a camera in the bathroom makes you think otherwise. With all of those thoughts in your brain, you also have your country to think about.
People have so much to say about contestants on the show, as if they live in the production room.
Don't ask me about why their voice change or why people act a certain way.
Haters and lovers are there to make you strong.
For the first few weeks you believe that walking out of that place will be a bit traumatic, but that is where you have to thank the fact that you always have real friends around.
To our two contestants this year, Maria and Dillish, I say: Enjoy the perks that come with being on the BBA show. Don't focus too much on what people say about you. Fact is that you guys got picked and not them. You made your mark and that's all that counts. This is just another item you can scratch off your bucket list. I am very proud of you guys and I know somewhere you have made an impact in someone's life just by a word or sentence you uttered on the show.
