The training college, which has been in existence for 20 years and believes in learning and growth, has further extended its wings by introducing a new private school.
The Lingua education group announced this great initiative just in time for the start of this school year as so many families are struggling to make decisions about where to send their kids to school because of Covid-19.
Lingua College is an engaged and people-centred college that serves the needs of its diverse communities by contributing to sustainable development through excellent academic programmes, research and service delivery.
According to the press release by Lingua College, it will be a junior secondary school to cater for grade 8 and 9 learners. The new cohort of students will start classes in January 2021 at this brand-new private school situated in the most serene suburb of Windhoek.
In addition to Lingua College, the school is also registered as a tuition and examination centre for Grade 11 (new curriculum) and Grade 12 (old curriculum) candidates since 2017. The Tuition and Examination Centre provides tuition and national exams to candidates who register for the first time, repeaters or those who simply want to improve their results. First-timers are however only allowed to register for a maximum of three subjects per year. Of note is that there is no age limit as classes are offered on full-time, part-time, distance or e-learning mode.
The founding director of the college, Ingrid Mettler, emphasised that the college has the vision to make it a one-stop shop.
“At some stage, Lingua has the vision to be able to facilitate education from that of being able to provide education services from kindergarten, primary, secondary and university, the initiative is a fulfilment of the vision,” she concludes.
