Light switch based on floor plan by Taewon Hwang
Ever confused when pressing switch to turn on/off lights in rooms? Probably yes, especially when you are new to the house. This switch concept design by Taewon Hwang, a product designer of Yanko Design, who takes a floor plan and turns it into the design for the light switch, makes it easy for people to control the lights in different rooms from one location in a house. The switch panels represent the floor plan of different rooms. These panels light up in the dark to make the switch easier to locate. And each panel works as an on/off button; “on†when pressed down and “off†when it’s up.
Ultimately it’s a smart design but needs customisations to produce switches for different houses with different floor plans – it can’t be mass-produced.
