Kunene missing girls found
The two minor girls who went missing in the Kunene Region last Monday, have been found.
The crime investigations coordinator of the police, Deputy Commissioner Rudolf Kanyetu could not provide much detail, only saying Kangombe Kangombe, 4, and 5-year-old Uahindua Kangombe were out of danger.
Kanyetu told Nampa on Wednesday the two sisters were found on the same day, a week and two days after they went missing in the area of the Okongoro village in the Werda policing area.
“I was informed that the younger one was stronger than her older sister, but they are all fine,” he said.
The girls were taken to the clinic at Otjokavare village in the Sesfontein constituency for a check-up and were reported to be fine.
The girls went missing after allegedly being sent to get horses from the field, from which they never came back home.
Earlier this year, a 4-year-old girl went missing for a day while herding goats at the Ohamaremba village in the Epupa constituency.
Late last year, a 3-year-old boy went missing from home at the Okovingava village on the outskirts of Opuwo. He was found two days later after he had covered a distance of 25 kilometres wandering in the forest.
In another case, three minors drowned in a pond at the Omao village in the Opuwo rural constituency towards the end of 2016 after initially disappearing.
