Khomas Regional Council appoints new CRO
The Khomas Regional Council has announced the appointment of Clement Mafwila as its Chief Regional Officer (CRO). Mafwila’s appointment is effective from January 1, 2015 and he replaces Ben Mulongeni who resigned from that post in November 2013. According to a statement by the council, Mafwila has been with the council for the past 11 years, serving in different capacities. Prior to his latest appointment he was the Director of General Services. He also served as acting CRO between 2009 and 2010, before the appointment of Mulongeni. The statement said Mafwila has solid experience in the public sector which will add valuable expertise to the council as it strives to meet its development goals. “I am pleased and ready to navigate Khomas Regional Council through the rapidly changing political environment to achieve its mission of becoming a well-developed, knowledgeable and peaceful region in Namibia,” said Mafwila. Before joining the council, Mafwila worked as Internal Auditor and Deputy Commissioner of Finance at the Namibian Police. He holds a Masters Degree in Public Policy and Administration specialising in decentralisation and public-sector reform. WINDHOEK NAMENE HELMICH
