Keeping it real
Season one of Namibian Sun’s and Hunter’s Namibia’s epic Hunter’s tjil sessions music show is coming to an end on Tuesday, 23 November, at XS Lounge with Kevo Maro, Waters, Tswazis, Slickartie, She and Khadijah as the performing artists on the night joined by a live band.
The show’s finale will mark eight episodes for the first season. It is important to note that being able to curate, execute and then produce a complete season is a very important skill. I see so many brands who have been in the game for so long who have never accomplished a cohesive season.
I attribute this milestone to the mutual understanding of both parties involved in this production, not only Namibian Sun and Hunter’s Namibia, but all the artists involved and, most importantly, the fans of the show.
As Namibian Sun’s custodian journalist for the tjil brand, my experience on the first season of Hunter’s tjil sessions had many highs and lows, but even during the lowest moments, I was able to take something from it, to learn something.
I believe a lot of that experience collectively helped the team involved for this production in structuring our productions.
With the finale, as the brands (tjil and Hunter’s Namibia) behind this show, we will show our continued progression in music development and the synergy that bolsters these brands’ very backbones. It is also another reminder of what investing resources can do to evolve a brand. After this show, tjil will not only be known as Namibian Sun’s entertainment supplement, but a brand in its own right that has tapped into the events space and given back the music industry.
The same can be said for Hunter’s Namibia. Taking on the role of anchor sponsor for this show has allowed the brand to grow the Namibian music industry. They were able to book artists in a time when booking was scarce and were also able to allow Namibians to continue to enjoy the magic of music in the comfort of their homes.
In this edition, we spoke to DJ Dreas, and he shares all the details about his forthcoming project as well as the trajectory he is taking in chasing international recognition and success. We also attended the recently completed sixth edition of the MTC Windhoek Fashion Week, and we bring you highlights from that. Be sure to follow us on our social media platforms for all entertainment updates.
