KBF gets new chairman
The Khomas Boxing Federation will have new faces at the top following the resignation of long-serving chairman Jason Naule.

The Khomas Boxing Federation (KBF) has elected Joel Ngungu as its new chairperson.
Ngungu replaces Jason Naule, who resigned from the KBF board after his appointment to the Namibia Professional Boxing and Wrestling Control Board (NPBWCB).
Naule decided to step down even though he was appointed as an interim board member, given the rules and the constitution of the board.
KBF spokesperson Zesora Tjipe said Naule’s resignation gave the board no option but to hold an extraordinary congress.
“We decided to call an urgent congress, which took place on Saturday.
“Ngungu was the vice-chairperson of the KBF before his election as chairperson.
“This is what the people wanted and we believe he is capable of serving the board with honour,” Tjipe said.
The congress, which was attended by 12 of the 13 club members, elected Joseph Titus as vice-chairperson.
Titus garnered seven votes to the five of John Mbenge.
Tjipe thanked Naule for the job he did on the board for a number of years.
“His contribution will not go unnoticed because he worked hard as the chairman of this federation.
“He has gone on to bigger things now and we as the KBF wish him all the best of luck.”
Naule served on the board for three years before being re-elected last year.
He urged the new chair and vice-chair to continue working hard to keep boxing in the region growing.
“I am happy to have served on the board and it is now time to give others a chance.
“I am leaving the federation in good hands and I trust that those that are in my place will continue with the work that I was doing,” Naule said.
