Jonas Junias Jonas delivered a superb performance to win the gold medal at the African Boxing Olympic qualifier in Dakar, Senegal.

The lightweight boxer Jonas beat Colin Louis Richarno of Mauritius in the final.

Prior to the final fight Jonas had already qualified for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games on Wednesday, after defeating Abdelhaq Nadir of Morocco in their semi-final clash.

This will be the Namibian boxer's second Olympic Games after he competed in Rio in 2016.

Jonas said he will train hard and hopefully earn himself a medal in Japan. The boxer is waiting for direction from his coach on the best way forward, in terms of turning professional.
