Hotto in talks with Sea Robbers

LIMBA MUPETAMIWINDHOEKNamibian enterprising winger Deon Hotto is reportedly a step away from inking a deal with Orlando Pirates for next season, but this hasn't been confirmed by the player.According to KickOff Bidvest Wits have agreed a deal with fourth-placed Buccaneers (Bucs) on the PSL log for the transfer of Hotto and are now expected to conclude a deal in the next few days. Clubs dropping outAnother high-flying club and PSL log leaders with 48 points, Kaizer Chiefs, were the last team to enquire about the Wits midfielder but latest information is that a fierce battle at an attempt to get the services of the Namibian came from the Bucs, who allegedly beat second-placed Mamelodi to acquire the services of the player.However, the 29-year-old Namibian has been adamant that he is not aware or haven't been approached by any club; this with his contract ending end of July.“I don't know anything. I only read these reports in the media,” he said.If Hotto signs with the Bucs, he will be the second Namibian player to join the club after Theophilus 'Junior' Tsowaseb, who was also linked to the club on a three-year contract from 2014. Others on the listBucs have reportedly also won the race to sign Bafana Bafana captain Thulani Hlatshwayo from Wits. Sources close to the player say Hlatshwayo will pick playing for the Bucs rather than Sundowns, who had expressed interest in him after it emerged the Wits owners were selling the club. It is not clear if another player Haashim Domingo from Wits will also sign with the Bucs. League startThe PSL, which came to a halt due to Covid-19, is still suspended across the board. The PSL is trying all they can to save the 2019/20 season.However, the South African Football Association has maintained that no football should be played, even behind closed doors unless the government says it is safe to do so.PSL chairman Dr Irvin Khoza is hoping the season can be completed before or on 31 July provided the government gives football the green light to resume.
