Gross Barmen reopens on December 1

State hospitality company Namibia Wildlife Resorts last week appealed to residents of Okahandja and surrounding areas awaiting word of job opportunities at the soon to be relaunched Gross Barman Hot Springs Resort to remain patient a while longer. The resort, situated 10 km out of Okahandja, is scheduled to be reopened to the public on December 1 after undergoing extensive renovations. According to training development and wellness manager Gerald Andrews, the local community's response to job advertisements exceeded all expectations. “When NWR placed the adverts inviting applicants to apply for the vacancies at the resort, which vary from sales consultant to drivers, little did we anticipate the overwhelming response we would receive from the public,” Andrews said last week. NWR spokesman Mufaro Nesongano said the company’s human resources department would spend the past weekend short-listing applicants. “They (spent) the weekend in Okahandja, as there are some CVs that were dropped off at the regional councilor’s office,” Nesongano said. “We certainly would like to request that each individual that applied be patient and look forward to receiving a call if they are suitably qualified to work at Gross Barmen,” he said. The Gross Barmen resort has been closed since 2011. WINDHOEK STAFF REPORTER
