Grootfontein finance executive’s suspension lifted
The Grootfontein municipality has lifted the suspension of its finance executive Ileni Hainghumbi following a council meeting today. Hainghumbi, who claimed that there was a plot to remove him, so others can “eat”, was suspended in January for alleged misconduct. In a letter to Hainghumbi, acting CEO Arnold Ameb had not raised any reasons for his suspension. However, the council lifted this suspension and Hainghumbi has been asked to report for work tomorrow morning. “Kindly be informed that the investigation is still ongoing, and your formal disciplinary inquiry will be determined by the outcome of the ongoing investigation and you will be formally informed thereof,” the letter from Aneb reads. “Council believes in a good working relationship and if you are aggrieved by any particular matter, please try to follow the grievance procedures for possible remedy. Let my office take this opportunity to welcome you back and I sincerely hope we will work towards a common goal for the best of the institution.”
