Showbiz couple Maria & Walla no more
Former radio personality Walla was left a victim of reality television star Maria Nepembe's newfound fame. Gossipmongers went into overdrive at the news that the lady who made the term “Dirty Khandesi†famous had left her superhot boyfriend. Anyway, according to sources close to Maria, ever since our lovely girl's return from Big Brother Africa: The Chase she has been on a mission to capitalise on her newfound fame, and while she really cared about Walla, she was determined to focus on her career instead of a relationship. Another source reveals that the BBA evictee wants to keep her options open for now, as she knows that after appearing on the popular reality television show she is in demand, both career-wise and in love life terms. pssst! can't help but feel sorry for Walla, who seems like a decent young man with striking good looks. Don't worry, my brother, what goes around comes around.
Attention-seeking Wendelinus makes a return
Wendelinus, who has become known for his attention seeking ways, made a dramatic return this week by calling a local journalist to announce that it was his birthday, like that's supposed to be national news. Anyway, after overhearing the telephonic conversation pssst! figured she would give the self-proclaimed human rights activist the exposure that he loves oh so much. Wendelinus recently made headlines after he was linked to the apparent 'gay list' and then he went on to allege that his life was at risk. And now it seems our dear uncle is running out of ideas and thus he opted to use his birthday as his latest media attraction tactic. Anyway, pssst! wishes Wendelinus a happy birthday; he remains our favourite non-celebrity newsmaker. My brother, please get older and wiser, not older and desperate.
Former Miss Namibia to tie the knot
The wedding season is in full swing and pssst! has heard of more and more upcoming weddings in recent times without any invitation coming her way. pssst! thinks it's really saddening that her invitations always seem to get lost in the mail. Anyway, pssst! has been reliably informed that former Miss Namibia Vaanda Katjiuongua has finally found love and will be walking down the aisle this December. Vaanda, who won the Miss Namibia crown in 1999, has been relatively forgettable like most former Miss Namibia winners, although her beauty still remains undeniable. Anyway, our sources reveal that Vaanda will get married to a guy who currently works for the SME Bank and the two are madly in love. pssst! would like to wish the lovebirds all the best. Please don't forget to put pssst! on the guest list for what promises to be the wedding of the year.
Pink: Being called a lesbian is a compliment
Pink is undeterred by abusive people who brand her a lesbian, insisting the intended slur is in fact a compliment as she has many great friends who are homosexual. The 'So What' hit maker - who has two-year-old daughter Willow with husband Carey Hart - insists she isn't bothered by abusive social media users who hurl homophobic insults at her because she has many great friends who are gay. Hitting back at mean tweets, she wrote: ''Fun fact: when you twitter me and say “you're a lesbian†it really doesn't bother me at all. It's a compliment. Most of my favourite people are. I'm sure all of you hate-filled humans can come up with something a little worse than that?!? Come on- be creative. You have 140 characters!''
The 33-year-old singer previously heralded her homosexual fan base for being the reason behind her successful music career. She said: ''They've been the most loyal part of what I do. They've been my most loyal friends, to be honest. I've had a lot of my gay boys around, but my gay girls are my rootstalk. They're my honesty in an ocean of bull***t. I should be gay by the way that I look and the way that I am. I just happen to not be. But it just makes perfect and complete sense.''
Pink isn't the only star undeterred by jibes about her sexuality, with Miley Cyrus recently saying she's never offended by people calling her a lesbian. She said: ''Everyone said I was a lesbian but I'm like, 'Being a lesbian isn't a bad thing. So if you think I look like I'm a lesbian, I'm not offended. You can call me much worse. I've been called much worse. Being a lesbian is a compliment more than what else they call me.''
