Golgotha FC to host Easter Tournament

Golgotha Football Club will host their annual Easter Tournament on the April 18-21 at Samora Machel Football Field in Windhoek. The Easter tournament used to take place at the Sam Nujoma Stadium and John ya Otto Football Field, but because these two fields are under construction, the tournament will now take place at the field that is situated between the Greenwell Matongo, Havana and Wanaheda townships. This is the same venue used for the Samora Machel Football League, in which Golgotha competes. According to the tournament organiser, Elia Haule, all teams in Windhoek can take part in the tournament, as long as they are not playing in the leagues under the auspices of the Namibia Football Association (NFA).“The total prize of the tournament is N$3 500 and the team that wins the tournament will get a trophy and a cash prize of N$1 500. The team in second place will walk away with N$1 000. The two teams in the bottom place will each get N$500. All teams are required to register with an amount of N$350,” Haule stated. The tournament organiser added they will decide if the Man of the Match from each game will also get prize money. “The draw of the tournament will take place on April 13 at Samora Machel Football Field and this year it will be an exciting tournament because the total prize has increased from N$3 000 to N$3 500,” he said. “Our main intention of hosting this tournament is to create brilliant players in our league and to promote them to be on a high class. Hopefully they will then to get a chance of playing in Namibia Premier League (NPL),” Haule said.
