Giving back to his clientele
Thumbs Up, a local merchandise brand will host a winter jersey package competition.
The brand Thumbs Up was founded by young entrepreneur Andreas Naftal well known by many as just Andrew. It will be hosting its second edition of the winter jersey package competition this September. According to Andrew, the first edition of the competition was initiated last year after a very good sales record of jerseys during winter season. As Andrew was amazed by the higher numbers, he decided to make a competition for his customers to show his appreciation. The main aim of the competition is to give back to all the customers that supported the brand in terms of buying jerseys during the winter season. Andrew added that the competition was the first of its kind in 2018, the requirements to join the competition were to simply buy a Thumbs Up jersey then one automatically qualifies to be in the draw. Last year, the competition constituted of the first prize N$500, second prize two branded T-shirts and the third prize, two movie tickets. The winner of the first prize last year was a student at the University of Science and Technology (Nust), Hilma Shikongo.
This year the competition has grown and prizes include a Pick n Pay shopping voucher, selected local CDs, MTC Super Aweh recharge, cash prizes and the selected Thumbs Up products.
“I am amazed by how the youth is engaged in supporting local businesses; it is for this reason I always give back where I can. I want to inspire my fellow young and upcoming entrepreneurs to stop being job seekers and train themselves to be job providers,” explains Andrew, adding that this year, the completion is still open to everyone that has bought, or will still to buy his branded jerseys until September.
