GIPF takes road campaign to Omaheke

Members of the Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) at Gobabis and its surrounding areas have a chance until Saturday to interact with representatives of the fund visiting the Omaheke Region. The GIPF has over the years established a tradition with its “pension on wheels” campaign, where fund delegates visit the various regions conducting member education and bringing its services closer to individuals there. On Monday, the organisation started its latest drive into the Omaheke Region, where it will remain until Saturday. “GIPF regards member education as an integral part of its business strategy,” GIPF’s Marketing Manager Amos Kambonde told Namibian Sun on Tuesday. “As such, the Fund is passionate about ensuring that our members understand and are knowledgeable about GIPF rules, procedures and policies.” He invited members of the fund from Gobabis and surrounding villages to meet with the GIPF client consultant crew and raise any queries they need answers to. “Member education focuses on all the services we offer, such as how one becomes a member, or membership information, amendments of member records, retirement, benefits payable to deceased family members, funeral cover and resignations.” During the countrywide roadshows, he said, the fund would also offer services such as attending to pension queries, providing retirement advice, and assisting community members with biometric and fingerprint registration. Other services available from the “pension on wheels” crew are verification of pensioners, provision of benefit statements and income statements, and submission of required outstanding documents. “As part of the campaign, we shall also introduce members to the mew GIPF corporate brand,” Kambonde said. The crew is expected to end its visit to the Omaheke Region on Saturday, with a final showing at the Shoprite Parking Area in Gobabis. The next member education roadshow by the GIPF is scheduled to be held at the Otjozondjupa and Kunene regions, though details on these are to be released at a later stage. WINDHOEK STAFF REPORTER
