Feast of rugby
Rugby fans will be treated to an exhibition match between Namibia's SuperSport Rugby Challenge team and a team of players selected from the premier league.
The Namibian national rugby team, the Windhoek Draught Welwitschias, have intensified their preparations for the SuperSport Rugby Challenge.
The team will host a warm-up match today at the Hage Geingob Stadium against a Namibian Barbarian team at 19:00.
The Barbarian team will field players who play in the country's rugby premier league. The Namibia Ruby Union (NRU) announced yesterday they will not be charging for tickets at the gate. The match is aimed at improving the team's fitness ahead of their first clash against the Valke, which is slated for 21 April.
Namibia Breweries Limited (NBL) and First National Bank Namibia (FNB) are the sponsors of the competition. Namibia would like to improve on their previous performance in the SuperSport Rugby Challenge, which saw them failing to advance to the next stage of the competition.
