Elderly woman found dead
The body of an elderly woman was discovered in her home in Narraville on Saturday.
Warrant Officer Iileni Shapumba, the Erongo police unit commander for community affairs, confirmed the incident to Namibian Sun.
Two men made the discovery when they visited the residence in Mermaid Street to replace a broken window.
'We knocked and when she did not respond we became worried. We took a peek through her bedroom window and saw her laying on her bed. She looked blueish in her face.”
The two who had visited the woman the day before and were the last to see her alive alerted her relatives. They rushed from Dolphin Park to investigate and called the police.
Police officers had to break down the back door in order for medical personnel to gain entry. They confirmed the woman had passed on.
A detective at the scene said no foul play was suspected and that a post-mortem would be conducted to determine the cause of death.
