Earn the respect
So many people walk into our lives for reasons unknown to us until the mission is complete and you realise you have been played. Not just relationship wise, there are many ways we get played out here. I'm going to refer to a recent event where I was almost played or fooled but I put my foot down. You see usually I'm this person that lets people get away with murder and I take the blame. Yeah, I know, it's a disease and I plan on taking care of it. Some day. Any hoo, I was not in the mood of taking one for the team as usual and one brother man decides to try me! He needed a favour but he just wasn't in the mood of acting like he needed it much that much. Being in my mood, I told the brother man to get his act together because like, just say please or something, you know. But he's like I used the words need and pay and that shows my earnestness. Bottom line is that he expected me to say how high when he said jump so I told him to catch the next flight because I wasn't about that life anymore.
Guys where have our manners gone? Simply because we are of the same generation doesn't mean you have to speak your peers with disrespect. How then do we communicate with the elders? Lol, not to sound old and righteous but this experience was just too shocking for me… I have to express myself. I just think that even though you are more successful or the movie you have acted in premiered in the States and John Travolta saw it, or perhaps you have Gazza in your music video, no one should be treated less worthy. The solution to treating people with respect is to treat them as you would like to be treated. When dealing with difficult people, seek to understand the root of their disregard toward you. Then you will be able to rise above the condition, and treat them well.
As Lao Tzu said, treat those who are good with goodness and also treat those who are not good with goodness. Thus goodness is attained. Be honest to those who are honest, and be also honest to those who are not honest. Thus honesty is attained.
