Desert Express spoils
The national railway operator this week announced that Gudrun Nambala is the overall winner of its Transnamib Desert Express Tourism Expo Competition .
The Oshana Region resident won herself a weekend adventure tour for two aboard Transnamib's luxury train, the Desert Express - inclusive of all meals, on-board accommodation and excursions such as a game drive, a dune excursion and lion feeding at the Okapuka Ranch lodge.
According to the organisers the draw, held at the Desert Express stand at the recent Namibia Tourism Expo, attracted more than 1 000 entries.
Four runners-up will take home Desert Express hampers.
The Desert Express is Transnamib's premium rail experience, offering overnight weekend get-aways from Windhoek to Swakopmund.
Among its distinctive features are drinks served to guests upon arrival (departure time is Friday at 13:00), and the option of seven-day trips to Swakopmund and Etosha on selected dates, as well providing private charters for conferences, year-end parties and weddings.
