Coca-Cola boosts WSL
Coca-Cola Beverages Africa Group Namibia has sponsored the NFA WSL to the tune of N$20 000, which will go towards the successful implementation of the league which is scheduled to start on 27 May.

The Namibia Women's Soccer League (WSL), the premier competition of local women's football which grooms and uplifts local female footballers, has received a welcome boost from Coca-Cola.
Over the years, the WSL has been instrumental in creating better performance and excellence levels in women's soccer in the country.
“The league will be played for six months and will have a total of 14 teams,” said Jessica Jacobs, sponsorship consultant for the WSL.
More Welcome
She added that more sponsors are welcome to come on board to ensure that the teams and the players are well catered for.
The WSL has been the most competitive women's football league in Namibia and one that provides a platform for recruitment of national junior and senior players.
“Apart from enhancing the fitness levels, as well as improving the physical and emotional wellbeing of the players, the league has also been instrumental in creating a career path for the players.
“We have seen how it has served as preparation of players for International CAF, FIFA and Olympic qualifiers coupled with preparation for the annual Cosafa Cup.
“What is also undeniable is that it creates an opportunity for coaching, referees and managers development through NFA, CAF and FIFA.
“While WSL has created female role models it has allowed for graduation of youth girls league players into a more professional and competitive league,” Jacobs added.
