Car-Tech Namibia marks its 10-year anniversary in the automotive repair business this month. Having relocated to even bigger premises in Lafrenz Industrial Park in the capital, the business continues to be a force to be reckoned with in the industry.

Robert Zorn who is the owner of Car-Tech Namibia trained and qualified as a diagnostic technician in Germany 22 years ago. Zorn came back to Namibia and worked in the automotive industry for 23 years before deciding to run his own business. “I have always had a passion for providing exceptional service and having been in the industry for so long, I decided to open my own shop and implement my own best practices,” said Zorn.

Car-Tech is a motor-body repair business that specialises in spray-painting, mechanical repairs and panel-beating amongst a host of other car repair services.

Renowned for their excellent workmanship and car refinish expertise, Car-Tech has been making use of Glasurit, a premium paint brand from BASF Coatings Services, distributed by Hemco Paints in Namibia. Car-Tech specialises in waterborne basecoats, a key focus area of Glasurit paint systems. Waterborne paints contain very low solvent levels, meaning the paints are good for the environment. “We strive only for the best solutions and Glasurit has always been our only choice since we started our business,” notes Zorn. “A good product coupled with excellent customer service from Hemco has gone a long way in us establishing a good relationship with the paint supplier,” he added.

Car-Tech’s recipe for success lies in their determined drive to continuously satisfy their customers. The business also embraces use of latest technologies as new tools and equipment are constantly released into the market due to the ever increasing modernisation of today’s vehicles. “This enables our business to keep in touch with the latest trends and ability to repair any make of car whether manufactured in 2017 or in 1917,” said Zorn.

The emergence and implementation of newer technology in the automotive industry has allowed Car-Tech to streamline its business processes and operate more efficiently. “Communication also plays a key role for the business be it internally or externally with our customers and various stakeholders,” noted Zorn.

Car-Tech has now expanded its service offerings to include repairs on motorbikes, trailers and small trucks.
