BW introduces banking App

Bank Windhoek this week announced the introduction of its official new mobile application for smart devices, the Bank Windhoek App. An addition to the bank’s existing range of online banking channels, namely cellphone banking and Ibank, the first release of the Bank Windhoek App supports Apple (iOS) and Android devices. Future releases, the bank said this week, would include support for Windows devices. “This is just one of many initiatives to make sure we are using technology to empower our customers with more choice and convenience,” Bank Windhoek MD Christo de Vries said. “We wish to offer a one-stop-shop banking experience enabling clients to manage their accounts and transact securely from anywhere they choose,” he said. Some of the features included with the new app include 24/7 client access to their account profiles, an option to create and manage beneficiaries, third-party payment options (for example to the City of Windhoek or Multichoice), purchase of pre-paid electricity, airtime top-ups, and funds transfers between linked accounts. The app also includes such features as free SMS or email notifications, balance enquiries, exchange rates and Bank Windhoek news, and summaries and details of account balances. To gain access to the Bank Windhoek App, customers can download it from the Apple Store or Google Play Store, while to activate it, customers are urged to visit their nearest Bank Windhoek branch, or call the customer contact centre at 061 299 1200.
