In the spirit of making great entertainment accessible, MultiChoice Namibia announced the live broadcast of the SuperSport Rugby Challenge match between the Windhoek Draught Welwitchias and the Pumas on 17 June.

The broadcast will be a SuperSport special to celebrate MultiChoice Namibia's 25 year anniversary. Gideon Khobane the CEO of SuperSport, commented that the SuperSport Rugby Challenge is vital in helping nurture future stars.

“Happily the Welwitschias found some form recently and will be tough to beat at home. We hope a good crowd comes out to celebrate and support their team,” he said.

Roger Gertze, general manager of MultiChoice Namibia added that their mission is to make great entertainment more accessible to Namibians, “thus we are proud to make a contribution to this significant initiative which extends beyond broadcasting to the exposure of our exceptional Namibian talent on a global level, local value-addition and collaboration with key sporting stakeholders to promote and advance this popular sport in Namibia.”

In the same vein Elizma Theron, acting CEO of the Namibia Rugby Union said that the match against the Pumas will be rather challenging with many of our players participating in the Nations Cup in Uruguay, but the Windhoek Draught Welwitschias will still play with the absolute determination and passion that we have grown accustomed to.”

The much-anticipated game will air live on SuperSport SS1 (DStv channel 201) at 13:00 on Saturday.
