Brave Gladiators get Lesotho friendly

WINDHOEK-NFA.ORG.NA Namibia's national women's football team, the Brave Gladiators have secured two international friendly matches against Lesotho later this month. According to a press release from the Namibian Football Association's (NFA) Women Desk the games will take place on June 27 and 29. The first match will be played at the NFA Technical Centre at 15:00, while the second game is set for the Sam Nujoma Stadium, starting at 14:30. Since Namibia has never played Lesotho before, the two federations are hoping to use this platform not only to benefit the players on the pitch but share best practices on how to develop and administer the women's game in their respective countries. “Hopefully after successful deliberations we would like to make this event an annual one with Lesotho hosting Team Namibia next year. Team Lesotho will also attend the Galz and Goals League games on Friday to familiarise themselves with our youth programmes as they too anticipate launching similar programmes,” said Jacqui Shipanga of the women's desk. “This international fixture is very much welcomed by the players and technical staff and hugely anticipated since the last game of the Brave Gladiators was against Tanzania last year in February,” she added. According to Shipanga, the Gladiators will host the Ivory Coast women's national team later in the year and as she believes stiffer opponents can help with the team's development. Meanwhile, the team has been boosted by the return of two players to the country after taking part in football internship in Germany. Carmel Don and Lena Noreses have returned just in time to get their first caps for the Brave Gladiators after coming through the youth ranks.
