The Fish Eagle Rally hosted in Walvis Bay by the Playboys Motorcycle Club once again did not disappoint.

The 20th edition of the rally saw about 350 motorcyclists from 15 clubs participating. Bikers rode from all over the country, and even from South Africa and Zimbabwe, to join in the action.

The rally kicked off on Friday with the barrel rumble, where the bikers paid homage to fellow riders who had passed away. The same night the pretty faces of the rally were announced. Lili Steyn was crowned as Miss Fish Eagle, her first princess was Sjanni Theron and second princess was Amanda Kotze.

Saturday saw all the action happening, with a mass ride through town to the Diaz Circle where the annual bike drags took place.

On the drag strip, Edson Almeida clocked the fastest time of the day at 9.58 seconds.

In the Cruisers class, Pierre Sowden clocked the fastest time of 12.47 seconds, while in the 350 – 700CC class Johan Oosthuizen clocked the fastest time of 11.50 seconds.

Marius Hendricks clocked a time of 11.35 seconds in the 700 – 950CC class, while Julius Kotze clocked the best time of the day in the 950CC+ class, with a time of 9.62 seconds.

The Wheelie King of the day was Pierre Grobler, and the bravest biker of the rally was Kempen Claassens, who is racing against cancer.

Much to the entertainment of the spectators, various biker games were also played during the course of Saturday. These games included the barrel roll, slow ride, walk the plank, tyre throw, and the exciting doughnuts and burnouts.

The Burnout King was Janna Smit and the Doughnut King was Ricky Nitschke. The Desert Mustangs were the best represented club.

The judges' prize for the coolest bike was awarded to Lucian Martin from Swakopmund.

The biker who rode the longest distance to attend the rally was Wallie du Toit, who travelled 3 240 kilometres. The pillion rider who travelled the longest distance was Cythia Gibson, who travelled 2 700 kilometres from Zimbabwe.

The rally ended yesterday morning with a church service.
