BASS lands catch

The Namibia Bass Angling Association (NBAA) received a yearly sponsorship from a local bank, Bank Windhoek.The Bank Windhoek Bass Angling National Competitions commenced in February this year with plenty of excitement in anticipation. Locally, bass angling mainly takes place at the Von Bach Dam close to Okahandja and at Lake Oanob outside Rehoboth.The chairman of Bass Anglers Association of Namibia, Richard Grant, expressed his excitement towards the new season. “The sponsorship from Bank Windhoek is used to host our competitions. Without this very important sponsorship, we will not be able to stage them. “The funds are used to develop the sport with a particular focus on woman and youth development,” Grant said of the association's priorities.The programme for the year:22 April 2017: National Competition at Oanob Dam12 and 13 May 2017: BASS Nation Namibian Contender Qualification Event. Venue to be confirmed27 May 2017: National Competition at Von Bach Dam17 June 2017: Winter Bass Classic at Von Bach Dam19 and 20 August 2017: National trials. Venue to be confirmed9 September 2017: National Competition at Von Bach Dam29 and 30 September 2017: Corporate Bass Challenge. Venue to be confirmed. 5 and 7 October 2017: South Africa, Vaal River, Black Bass World Championship 27 and 28 October 2017: Summer Bass Classic at Von Bach Dam11 November 2017: National Competition at Oanob Dam2 December 2017: Christmas Cup at Oanob Dam Sport Reporter
