Basetsana face Asian test

South Africa's under-20 women's national team (Basetsana) arrived in Hong Kong on Saturday, en route to Xiamen, where they will participate in the Four Nations Tournament against three Asian teams. The tournament kicks off today. South Africa was invited by the Chinese Football Association along with Vietnam and Thailand, to build women's football and ensure that the development of the game is taking place internationally. South African coach Sheryl Botes is very excited at the prospect of playing the Asian countries and believes her squad will be a force to be reckoned with. “We have a very good group of players who already have national caps and international experience. “A few of them participated in the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Uruguay late last year and a few others have been part of the national set-up for a few years. Some also participated in the Zone 5 regional games, which we won. “I believe that we have a great chance of displaying our skills in this tournament, but we are definitely here to gain experience and compete against different styles of play and tactical strategies,” said Botes.
