Pregnancy after periods
Dear Auntie Nangy,
I am worried. I finished my periods on Sunday then Monday I had unprotected sex with my partner. I know his status. Can I fall pregnant?
Congratulations on knowing your partner's status, you have at least got that very important matter right, but using a condom at all times is equally important. In the past it was believed that there is a "safe period" of roughly seven days after your period during which a woman will not fall pregnant, but that has been disproved and the general consensus is that you can fall pregnant at any time during your menstrual cycle.
My ovaries pain
Dear Auntie Nangy,
You are my last hope. I have pains in my ovaries and one doctor said it is cysts. The pain is too much on the left one. The other doctor said my ovaries looked healthy on the sonar. My Pap smear results are fine. When this pain starts there is a watery discharge and it stops when the pain stops. I have visited many doctors. Please help me get a good gynaecologist in Otjiwarongo or Windhoek. Help me please.
Dear, I am sorry to hear about your situation and it must be very frustrating to hear different opinions from different doctors, but the correct next step is to see a gynaecologist. You should go to your doctor and ask him to refer you to a gynaecologist and remember it is within your rights to do so and he must comply. If you have any problem in this regard you can look in the telephone directory under Medical Listings in the front to find the number of a gynaecologist. All of the best.
My weird wet dreams
Dear Auntie Nangy
Am I normal? I believe that when a man had a wet dream he must assume that he is having sex with a lady, but as for me I sometimes do it man on man (a man having sex with me). Does that mean I'm gay or did someone practice their witchcraft on me?
You are completely normal and nobody practiced witchcraft on you and it does not mean that you are gay. Our subconscious, where dreams come from, is a place that we know very little about and works in mysterious ways. What we do know is that your dreams in no way reflect your real feelings and desires, and as such, your wet dreams are just that, wet dreams, and you should not read anything into what triggers it. Do not become obsessed or worried about them. You cannot control what you dream about, so focus on what you are doing when you awake.
