Arrival, departure forms phased out
Namibian citizens and permanent residence permit holders will as of today no longer be required to complete arrival and departure forms when entering and departing from the country.
Home affairs said on Friday that although the changes have already been published in the Government Gazette, the actual implementation will commence today.
This change came as a result of recent amendments to the regulations made under the two acts of parliament that regulate entry into and departure from Namibia, namely the Immigration Control Act of 1993 and Departure from Namibia Regulation Act of 1955, a statement said.
Citizens and permanent residence permit holders will only be required to complete the arrival and departure forms if the electronic border management system is off.
