Come eat, see and taste international cuisine in a space of four hours at the FNCC this weekend at the annual bazaar. For the eighth consecutive year, the Association of Diplomatic Spouses in Namibia (ADS) will be hosting their reputable charity open market a food and craft bazaar at the FNCC. Regarded as a melting pot of diverse cultures intermingling with people from all walks of life, embassies and diplomatic missions in Namibia will present exquisite culinary specialties, unique arts and craft souvenirs from their countries, together with performers. The ADS is a non-profit charity organisation established in 1990 by diplomatic spouses to help vulnerable communities in Namibia. All proceeds from this year's event will go to charities supporting young women and female empowerment in Namibia. A short presentation will be screened to in the FNCC cinema to continue to discover all the present countries.“The only difference there will be at this year's bazaar from the previous years is the fact that it will be bigger and better. There will be different food to try as well like the Malai Tangri kebabs from India to Halal samosas from Kenya,” said the president of ADA, Ida Alina. At the bazaar, ADA says children participation will be especially highlighted with reading of histories from different countries by the ambassadors and a quiz to visit the entire area and have a look at all the countries represented. They urge the public who will be attending to bring books that they do not read anymore as donations. Visitors can taste Spanish or Turkish specialties alongside Egyptian food, sip Malaysian beverages and enjoy Namibian and International performances - all on the same day, travelling only as far as the FNCC. The big international market gathers food and crafts stall from diplomatic stalls but also professional crafters and performances on stage by Namibian artists and by the embassies. The bazaar will be taking place tomorrow from 10:00 to 14:00 and entrance is free. June Shimuoshili
