APP 'pot' derailed
Disgruntled youth league members of the All People's Party (APP) claim the party's electoral college results were cooked to benefit a certain group of people.
According to APP secretary-general Vincent Kanyetu the election took place on Saturday evening and the list will be made public tomorrow.
The party also postponed a press conference at Döbra yesterday, where its manifesto would have been launched.
Kanyetu refused to release the list to the media before the press conference and rejected the youth league members' allegations.
“They are complaining because they want the list to look exactly how they want it,” he said.
The leader of the disgruntled youth, Sebastian Ntjamba, said Kanyetu was lying and no election took place.
“Let them give us the ballot papers if they claim an election took place,” he said.
According to Ntjamba, the biggest bone of contention is the fact that the top eight below the party president refused to be subjected to the criteria used to elect “worthy” leaders.
“We said we want the criteria to apply to everyone but we agreed that the president would be overseen, but after him everyone must be elected according to the criteria. But they refused,” he said.
