AGA Pipe Products

AGA Pipe Products started operation in 2014 and is owned, managed and run by Namibians for the Namibian market.

We started out due to a need for HD pipe for our own use and the Namibian market at that stage could not cater to our needs.

A decision was made to investigate how pipe was manufactured. This process took more than a year to complete as well as gather the required funds to procure the required machines, material and premises.

At that stage we were also looking for new premises for our other company and everything just fell into place that we could have both companies on the same premises in order to combine our workforce and logistics as well as management all in one place.

Once our first production line was set up and we started production of our own product, we realised that there was still much to learn and overcome in running a manufacturing business. This you only learn the hard way, which we did without a doubt.

Once we gained enough confidence in our abilities we started to investigate other customers in the market to see if this could become a viable business. We were fortunate to become one of the suppliers of HD and LD pipes in the Namibian market to some of the major resellers and have built up great relationships over the years with major companies as well as private companies using our products in their business. We also cater for the private individuals looking to buy in bulk.

After about two years in business we procured our laboratory equipment in order to test and certify our products according to the relevant standards required by industry. In the past we had to send our products to South Africa for testing which meant long turn-around times and delays in getting the results, which defeated the purpose. This, coupled with the fact that a part of our revenue had to be spent outside Namibia, was not acceptable to us.

Current operation

We are currently running three production lines in our factory which produce HDPE and LDPE pipes in all pressure classes up to PN25, as well as cable ducting for the telecommunication and construction markets.

Our HD pipes are produced according to SANS 4427-2:2008 and our LD pipes according to ISO 161-1:1996.

We do in-house testing in our laboratory according to these standards as well.

We offer complete customer solutions based on type and length requirement as well as advice on what product to select for each individual need.

We also offer lab testing and consultancy services to our customers.

Recently we started production of multi-duct pipes for the communication market. In the past this type of product had to be imported from outside Namibia and we felt that there is a need for a Namibian company to supply this in our country in order to keep revenue within our borders.

Currently we are the only company in Namibia which manufactures this type of product. We currently supply to Paratus Namibia, which utilises this product in their infrastructure roll-out throughout Namibia.
