The Groot Aub Football Challenge series, powered by Dad Man, continues tomorrow.
The competition, which aims to give a platform to footballers to showcase their talents, started in the south with Ernst Jahs Combined School winning the Karasburg series and Black Arrows winning the Keetmanshoop edition.
This weekend, new champions will be crowned as the action continues with the semi-finals and finals.
Organiser Rhonie Garoeb expressed contentment with the flow of the tournament so far, and said the winning teams are geared to walk away with top prizes.
Match schedule
A match between Deon Eleven and Uprising Stars will kick-off the tournament at 08:00 on Saturday morning, followed by an exciting match between Covid-19 and Stout Makers at Field A, while Africa United will play Latinos at Field B.
/Anes Boys will then take on the winner between Deon Eleven and Uprising Stars, while the winner between Covid-19 and Stout Makers will face the winner between /Anes Boys, Deon Eleven or Uprising Stars (overall semi-final).
At the second field, Airport Eagles will face Adizonkpak.
The winner will play Africa United and Latinos will face the winner between Airport Eagles and Adizonkpak (overall semi-final).
The overall winners of Field A and Field B will then clash in the final.
Prizes up for grabs
The tournament champions will receive N$5 000, 20 gold medals and a floating trophy, while the first loser will walk away with N$3 000 and 20 silver medals.
The two semi-final losers will get N$1 000 each. One of the two home teams, Deon Eleven or Uprising Stars, will get N$800 for being the last home team standing.
Entrance at the gate is N$10 per person and N$5 per vehicle.
All Covid-19 protocols will be enforced.
