A partnership that makes sense
Namib Mills and N/a’an ku sê Foundation recently joined hands towards a sustainable future.
The leading supplier of food in Namibia, Namib Mills donated tonnes of pasta, rice, maize meal and other food to N/a’an ku sê Foundation
On 5 October, the corporate brand manager of Namib Mills, Selma Moongo, paid a visit to the foundation to have a look at the different projects it has going, as well as assessing the performance of the learners.
The services N/a’a ku sê provides to the community include a clinic in the Omaheke Region which provides free medical treatment to members of the San community.
According to statistics released by the foundation, they treat an average of 4 500 patients annually.
Through the clinic’s weekly nutritional support programme, an average of 120 to 190 people receive meals from the clinic with the food provided by Namib Mills. Individuals with acute malnutrition go to the clinic daily to get a nutritious meal.
In addition to the clinic, the foundation runs the N/a’an ku sê Primary School, where the learners receive daily meals that are also provided by Namib Mills.
Along with humanitarian projects, the foundation is well known for its rehabilitation of orphaned or wounded animals.
In this endeavour too, it is supported by Namib Mills and Namib Poultry. A part of the maize meal provided by Namib Mills goes to the animals, whereas the chicken donated by Namib Poultry goes to feeding the carnivores.
The partnership with the two entities has been extended for another year.
