A Nestor fiesta
An undefeated Namibian pugilist is set to exchange blows with Mfaume Mfaume of Tanzania on 30 November at the Windhoek Country Club Resort in a WBO Africa welterweight title fight.
A mouth-watering title bout between current WBO Africa welterweight title holder Mike 'Silent Assassin' Shonena and challenger Mfaume Mfaume will headline a boxing fiesta organised by the MTC Nestor Sunshine Academy.
Shonena, who is ranked 11th by the WBO and boasts a clean record after 12 professional fights, remains undefeated in the welterweight division and looks destined for greater heights.
He is an incredibly powerful puncher and skilful at the same time, while his ability to send opponents crashing to defeat has been undeniable over the years.
Shonena last fought in March in the Independence Legacy Boxing Bonanza, beating Said Yazidu of Tanzania via a second round technical knockout. It was an easy fight for the Namibian, and Yazidu walked out of the ring limping.
Shonena started his professional boxing career in July 2013 when he defeated Simon Shafodino. Since then he has not faced a competitor who has proven to be better than him in the division.
His Tanzanian opponent, Mfaume, has a record of 17 fights, 12 wins, three losses and two draws.
He fought last month against Russian boxer Vaghinak Tamrazyan - a fight which he lost.
In addition, 12 other bouts will take place on 30 November, with the finest local boxers taking up the challenge:
