7th AMVCA nominees to be announced
Africa Magic will announce the nominees in all 28 categories of the 7th Africa Magic Viewers' Choice Awards (AMVCA) on Thursday, 6 February. DStv and GOtv viewers can tune in at 22:00 for the live broadcast on all Africa Magic channels.
The nominee announcement will be hosted by Nollywood's Linda Ejiofor and Ibrahim Suleiman. Africa Magic channel director Wangi Mba-Uzoukwu said: “The journey to selecting the nominees from over 2 000 entries received for this edition has been a long but exciting one.
Judging from the calibre of entries received, we are once again reminded of the important role the AMVCAs play in shaping the African film and television narrative”.
Since its launch in March 2013, the awards ceremony continues to inspire and celebrate the contributions of African film-makers, actors and industry specialists as they promote the growth of the continent's film and television industry.
For the seventh edition, awards will be presented in 28 categories, with seven open to public voting and 21 decided by a panel of judges.
This year will see the introduction of a new category: The MultiChoice Talent Factory Award.
