Minister's driver killed in accident
Two persons died on the spot when an official vehicle of youth and sport minister Jerry Ekandjo collided head-on with a Golf 4 hatchback in the early morning hours of today north of Okahandja. In the accident, Ekandjo’s driver, who was behind the wheels of a Toyota Hilux double cab, was burnt to death after the vehicle caught fire. The driver of the Golf also died instantly. Ekandjo confirmed the accident to Namibian Sun this morning. The minister’s driver, who is also a police officer, was identified as Johny Lusiano, while the other motorist has been identified as 44-year-old Jafet Amukutsi. Ekandjo was not inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. Both drivers were alone in the cars.
