Striving towards service excellence

Dedicated GIPF employee shakes up service delivery
Jemimah Ndebele
Hard-working and persistent are the two words commonly used to describe passionate client service consultant Lunza Munsu.
The flourishing Government Institutions Pension Fund (GIPF) employee started her tenure as an intern at GIPF in 2015 and became a temporary receptionist in 2016 before officially transitioning into her current position in 2017.
“Unlike other people who started their careers without pre-exposure to their job, being adamant to succeed as an intern made it easier for me to easily integrate into my current role,” she said.

Munsu reflected on her educational journey in Katima Mulilo. “I attended Brenden Simbwae Primary School and Ngweze Senior Secondary School in the beautiful Zambezi Region”. She then pursued her tertiary education.
She holds a diploma in business administration from the International Training College Lingua and is currently pursuing a bachelor of business aministration degree with Stadio University.
Munsu’s passion towards achieving service excellence has made her a trailblazer in the fund’s operations department and resulted in her receiving an accolade in customer service delivery after she scored the highest rating of 98%. “My work ethic and ambitious nature speak for themselves and have resulted in me being awarded the ethics ambassador title in recognition of my steadfast work ethics and good moral values,” she said.
“I derive satisfaction from seeing our members happy, having received the help they need,” she said when asked what she loves most about her job.
This usually involves assisting in the speedy finalisation of claims, particularly involving claims of members who are in urgent need of financial assistance. For instance, children who need money for their school needs, beneficiaries who lost their loved ones, retired members or members who have been boarded medically.
Munsu’s hard work and persistence are not easily overlooked as her superiors duly acknowledge what a pleasure it is to work with her.
“She is always willing to go the extra mile and to lend a helping hand to the next person. She loves to work in a neat and clean environment that yields quality work production. Lunza can work with people from a diverse background and always attempts to create an optimistic working environment with herself and those surrounding her,” senior client services consultant Tyran Olivier said.
