Sethu Kalili appointed acting chief commercial and technical officer at Otesa
Otesa Civil Engineering has announced Sethu Kalili as the acting chief commercial and technical officer, a role she assumed on 1 August.
In this position, Kalili will be responsible for strategically directing the company’s commercial and technical services department.
According to a statement, Kalili’s role includes aligning all commercial and technical policies, procedures and functions with Otesa’s strategic plan and high-level objectives. His mandate is to drive efficiency, optimise operational performance, promote technological innovation, and foster a high-performance culture in support of Otesa’s long-term vision.
“We are confident in Mrs Kalili’s leadership and proven capabilities," Otesa CEO Elmo Kaiyamo said.
"Her dedication and professional expertise will provide stability and direction during this transitional period, while ensuring that Otesa continues to deliver on its commitments to quality, innovation and client satisfaction.”
Kalili, who joined Otesa in November 2024, is a qualified civil engineer with a postgraduate degree in project and construction management, boasting over 20 years of experience in the construction industry.
Wide-ranging expertise
Her expertise spans general contracting, design and drafting, fit-out work and subcontracting across the private, residential and mining sectors.
Kalili has worked extensively in construction, infrastructure, renewable energy, process implementation and management.
Notable achievements include her international presence in construction, having participated in projects throughout South Africa, Namibia, Tanzania and Kenya, while also expanding her experience beyond Africa.
The company highlighted that she has supervised renewable energy and infrastructure projects in Australia, the United Kingdom and the USA and successfully managed renovations, refurbishments and maintenance projects, many of which were executed remotely.
