Simone Engelbrecht joined Alexforbes Namibia in January and thrives in her new role.
Simone Engelbrecht, an assistant consultant at Alexforbes Namibia, plays a crucial role as a liaison between clients and various departments.
Engelbrecht joined the company in January and boasts notable academic accomplishments, including a bachelor's degree in business management obtained in 2017. In 2020, she successfully completed a Bachelor of Arts with honours in business finance.
As part of her current role, Engelbrecht reports to a senior consultant within her portfolio. Her responsibilities involve providing essential assistance and advice to effectively manage the pension funds of her clients on a daily basis.
Additionally, she is responsible for preparing agendas, minutes and meetings, as well as deliverables, and assisting the management committees in overseeing their retirement funds, among other responsibilities.
Deep understanding
Engelbrecht says the industry is fast-paced, with constant changes in legislation that affect retirement funds. "The needs of all clients are unique, and hence a deeper understanding of each fund is required. There is never a dull moment!" she said.
Engelbrecht has set goals to build a healthy relationship with the team she works with, clients and colleagues. She is dedicated to ensuring that clients are well taken care of, feel comfortable, and trust the fund’s members to execute their expectations.
Furthermore, she embraces the expertise of colleagues and wants to learn as much as she can from them. She believes that one should never stop learning.
Happy new beginning
Engelbrecht said the interview and application process was challenging.
"My interview went on for over an hour and the questions were definitely not easy. Even so, I am very glad that I applied for the position and am very happy to have become a part of the Alexforbes team," she said.
She described the day she received the call for employment as unbelievable.
"I could not believe it and later it sank in that I got the position. I was very excited to start working for Alexforbes. I felt ready for the new challenge," she said.
