Tumas development tops N$725m

Deep Yellow spent about N$725 million advancing its flagship Tumas uranium project during the 12 months to 30 June 2026, according to figures contained in the company's latest Appendix 5B quarterly cash flow report.The figures are based on approximate conversions from the Australian dollar amounts reported by the company.The report shows that Deep Yellow spent A$48.231 million (approximately N$570 million) on project development over the 12 months.Development expenditure relates to activities required to prepare the Tumas project for construction and eventual production, including engineering, project execution and other pre-production work.The company also spent A$13.150 million (about N$155 million) on exploration and evaluation, covering activities such as drilling, geological investigations, technical assessments and resource evaluation.Together, the two categories amounted to A$61.381 million, or approximately N$725 million, invested in advancing the Tumas uranium project during the 12 months to 30 June 2026.Beyond project-related expenditure, Deep Yellow reported staff costs of A$7.413 million (about N$88 million) for the 12 months, administration and corporate expenses of A$4.535 million (approximately N$54 million), and A$627,000 (about N$7.4 million) spent evaluating project acquisition opportunities.Expenditure on property, plant and equipment totalled A$545,000 (about N$6.4 million), while finance costs associated with lease obligations amounted to A$116,000 (around N$1.4 million).For the June 2026 quarter alone, Deep Yellow spent A$11.151 million (about N$132 million) on project development and A$2.760 million (approximately N$33 million) on exploration and evaluation. Staff costs for the quarter amounted to A$1.775 million (about N$21 million), while administration and corporate expenditure reached A$1.649 million (approximately N$20 million).Despite the investment programme, the company ended the quarter with A$159.976 million in cash and cash equivalents, equivalent to roughly N$1.9 billion, and reported no loan facilities or credit standby arrangements as at 30 June 2026.Deep Yellow also estimated that its available funding would support 12 more quarters of operating activities and exploration at its current rate of expenditure.
